Things to do in Las Palmas

Did you know that Las Palmas is one of the Top 10 biggest cities in Spain? Many people find it surprising since the first image that comes to mind when you hear the word Canary Islands are never ending beaches, resorts and maybe incredible volcanic landscapes. But yes, the islands also host the 9th biggest city in Spain. After the big 4 Madrid, Barcelona, Sevilla and Valencia, Las Palmas is among those cities with a big city flair like Zarazgoza, Bilbao, Málaga or Palma de Mallorca. A beautiful catedral and a charming historic city centre, lots of shopping centers with onlye 6,5% VAT, an incredible city beach of 4 kms and a very active nightlife. Many of the things to do in Gran Canaria can be found in the capital of the island. 

In Las Palmas you will find life and culture on every corner. The city has various big theatres, an incredible auditorium at the beach for classic music concerts, and many seasonal festivals: the Carnival of Las Palmas, The International Film Festival of Las Palmas, WOMAD (World of Music Art & Dance), TeMuDas Festival (Teatro, Música y Danza)…Even though there is enough to do at the usual bars, clubs and theatres, we like to add a little spice to life with one festival per month in average.
